It is Sunday, May 31st, as I sit down and write this monthly email.  I have finished watching the news and the "political" talk shows and I am typing while my church's "live-stream" is playing in my office.  

It is very sad and disturbing to watch the fires burn, the hatred grow and to watch the "politics" of who to blame take over.

Perhaps we should focus on discussing the problem.  Getting to the root.  Getting buy in from all sides of what the problem is and having an open and honest discussion of solutions. 

Not assessing blame.

When your house is on fire, you're not worried about how it started.  You're worried about getting your loved ones out safely and putting the fire out.  There is time to figure out everything else out when everyone is safe and the flames are gone.

I hope and pray that everyone reading this email is safe and secure.  No one knows what the future holds and 2020 is making sure that we are reminded that daily.  So, at least in terms of your retirement money, I will do my best to give you the best advice, at the exact time you need the advice.

MAY S&P 500 - STOCK MARKET:

The month of May was another good month for the S&P 500 stock index.  I think this would be a good time to remind all of our readers that there is a big difference between the economy and the stock market.  The stock market has continued it's upward momentum that started on March 24th.  Even though almost all of the "economic" conditions are deteriorating. 

This is why we use diversification as a starting point for all of our models.  And if you are using our "semi-tactical" models, they are diversified and 50% of the normal stock allocation is still in cash.
